  4. Industrial, defense, and agricultural buildings, or parts of the same, in the portion intended for non-residential workshops, industrial processes, defense-related, and agricultural activities.

  5. Detached buildings or parts of buildings with a total usable floor area of less than 50 m2.

  6. Buildings purchased for major renovations or demolition.

  7. Existing residential buildings or parts of buildings whose use is less than four months per year, or else for a limited time within the year, with an expected energy consumption of less than 25% of what would result from using them throughout the whole year, provided that this is stated via a responsible declaration by the property owner.

Validity, renewal, and updating

  1. The energy efficiency certificate will have a maximum validity of ten years.

  2. The competent body of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura responsible for building energy certification will set the specific conditions to proceed with its renewal or updating.

  3. The building owner will be responsible for renewing or updating the energy efficiency certificate in accordance with the conditions established by the competent body of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The owner may voluntarily proceed with its update when they consider that changes have occurred in aspects of the building that could modify the energy efficiency certificate.

Infringements and penalties

Failure to comply with the provisions contained in this basic procedure will in all cases be considered an infringement in relation to the energy efficiency certification of buildings and may be sanctioned in accordance with the provisions of the legal rules that apply.
